A Rising Tide Lifts All Boats - Our ‘Why’

At Central Wisconsin Ice, Inc., our “why” is simple:

Central Wisconsin Ice, Inc. was created because we see the need for something greater in our community. We see the potential for a new home for hockey and ice sports in Central Wisconsin, a place built not just for today, but for the future. A place where youth players can develop, high school and junior athletes can compete, families can gather, and community members of all ages can enjoy the benefits of ice.

This effort is about more than building a rink. It is about creating opportunity.

It is about giving young athletes the ice time, training space, and developmental environment they deserve. It is about reducing barriers to participation and helping make hockey more accessible for the next generation. It is about supporting programs that are already working hard to grow the game while also opening the door for new partnerships, new programming, and new community uses.

We also believe this project can have an impact far beyond hockey. A new ice facility can become a year-round community asset; one that supports recreation, tournaments, economic activity, and local pride. It can help position Central Wisconsin as a destination for hockey development and community events. Most importantly, it can give families in our region a place they are proud to call their own.

Our why is rooted in the kids who lace up their skates every day with big dreams.

It is rooted in the parents who spend countless hours supporting them.

It is rooted in the coaches, volunteers, officials, and community members who care deeply about what sports can teach and what a strong community can accomplish together.

We know a project like this takes vision, collaboration, and commitment. That is why Central Wisconsin Ice, Inc. is focused on bringing people together, including community leaders, families, organizations, and supporters around a shared belief that Central Wisconsin deserves a facility that matches the passion and potential of its people.

So when people ask “Why are you doing this, what’s in it for you?” our answer is simple: we were always taught to leave it better than we found it and this is our opportunity to give back and do just that.

We are doing it for the next generation of players.

For families looking for connection and opportunity.

For a stronger hockey community.

That is our why.
